Twenty Free Kindle Books for 02/13/2015

Each of These Twenty Kindle e-Books are Free!

We’re already six weeks into the New Year. How are your changes for 2015 holding up? If you made resolutions, have you been successful at keeping them? If you’re following Mike Vardy’s plan, you just set and started your new goals on Groundhog Day, so it’s going to be pretty hard to assess how you’re doing.

One of the hardest areas for me when it comes to goal setting is parenting. I have eight kids ranging in age from 25 down to 12. I’ve got the gamut of full-on adults, college students, high school students, and even a middle-schooler. From 20-somethings through teens to a tween, I’ve got my hands full. I set some goals for the year in January, and you can read my recap of how I did regarding progress on those goals.

As I was writing that post it became apparent that I need to set some goals related to my family, and especially my parenting. Frankly, I wasn’t really sure to start…so I turned to the internet and read a bunch of blogger’s takes on how to be a better parent. Then I turned to Amazon too see what resources I could find. As always, I looked at any free books first. I was delighted that I was able to find eight books that might help me out. I listed them below.

Fitness is always a struggle for me. I workout, but obviously haven’t been very effective, since I’m carrying around 75 or more pounds of weight that shouldn’t be there. I got back into a fairly solid routine in January, working out 5 of every 7 days, but most of it was on the stationary bike. The workouts were 30 minutes or more, and most days I rode 60+ minutes. But my weight stayed very stable. It finally dawned on me that while I had increased my activity, my food intake had increased as well. So for February I’m working on reducing my food intake while simultaneously increasing the intensity of my workouts.

Of course, I looked all over the place for ideas, and I’m going to try a couple of new things this month…including some Yoga. While searching Amazon I found a book that really struck a cord with me, Yoga: The Art and Science of Yoga For Beginners. It’s included in the Fitness & Health section below. I was also surprised to find a free book titled Fitbit for Weight Loss. I’ve been an avid Fitbit user for a while now, but I haven’t used it to manage weight loss. Frankly, I’ve just been fascinated by the idea of all the data. This book was a great entrée into how to actually be more proactive with my Fitbit. I’ve included a couple of other books that looked interesting too, especially the book on sleep.

Finally, I’ve included eight cookbooks. Most of these are a bit less traditional, focusing on smoothies and shaker bottle recipes this month. I keep trying to convince myself to try green smoothies, but then I look at the pictures and I’m not all that interested. Funny thing is, I actually like all the ingredients in the recipes in these recipes, unlike the majority of my family. I’ll pretty much try anything, so I’m really going to make an effort to at least give green smoothies a try. The shaker bottle book really appealed to my kids. They are shaker bottle addicts, so I figured I better find some recipes for them too.

So that’s a recap of the twenty books listed below. Of course, it’s possible that these aren’t free when you get to this post, so verify the cost of the books before you buy since Amazon can change their prices at any time. I read all my Kindle books in the Kindle app on my iPad. My mom is in love with her Kindle Paperwhite 3G. Regardless of how you consume them, these Kindle books are great!
