Welcome! I’m Jeff Page, and the prototypical Hectic Dad. Father of eight kids, husband, business owner, coach…you name it, I probably do it. Well, at least I try to do it. And when I don’t I fret about it. Then I try again. And again.<\/p>\n
That’s what this blog is about…it’s about all the\u00a0stuff<\/em> in life that needs to be done and how the compromises that we make should be\u00a0decisions<\/em> rather than\u00a0defaults<\/em>.<\/p>\n With kids ranging in age from 23 to 10, I’ve got one in grade school, three in high school, three in college, and one out on her own with post-graduate work looming. We span the U.S. from Maine to New York to Iowa to Colorado with ourhome base in Kansas.<\/p>\n Today, the last of my three college-aged kids left to return to school. It’s Senior year for two of them; an exciting, albeit scary time. So many things to consider for the future. So many opportunities. So much confusion. As a parent, it’s just as confusing and concerning. People are always asking me, “what do the kids want to do with their futures?” and I honestly look them in the eye and respond, “I’m not even sure what\u00a0I<\/strong> want to do with my future, how can we expect them to know?”.<\/p>\n So…this blog is going to be my attempt to bring some sanity to the crazy life that we lead here and hopefully pass on some of the collective wisdom that I’ve acquired. Of course, that’s a fancy way of saying “hopefully you can avoid some of the mistakes I’ve made”.<\/p>\n A journey of a thousand miles begins…by stumbling over the threshold.<\/p>\n Welcome to this journey!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Welcome!
