They both live in the same forest, but have never crossed paths. Little Cub longs to have a companion, learn how to catch fish, collect delicious honey without being stung, and have someone to help him sleep at night. Old Bear dislikes the dark nights with no one to take care of him. He would love to have someone with whom to share his breakfast fish. He was never hungry, but wishes for someone to share his meals.<\/p>\n<p>One day, Old Bear discovers Little Cub sleeping fitfully, all alone, under a pile of rocks. He introduces himself to the little guy and invites him back to his cabin. Little Cub sleeps in Old Bear&#8217;s gigantic, soft bed as Old Bear looks on. The thought of the grumpy, grumbling curmudgeon Old Bear softening his heart and welcoming Little Cub into his home and his life was really heart-warming. Hectic Grandson seemed enthralled with his new bear friends, and I believe he figured out the connection between Old Bear and his Papa. It was pretty cool when he pointed to Old Bear and then he pointed to me&#8230;and gave me a hug. Even without words he got the point across!<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve read the book several times every day this past week and Hectic Grandson and I are both enamored of this book.
