\"Hectic\"HecticI’ve been thinking a lot about mortality<\/a>\u00a0lately. With the death of two college roommates in the past 18 months, my world has been rocked. Losing my Dad not long before that also greatly impacted me. Regular visits to my Mom with Hectic Grandson has caused me to think about what I want to be like as a Grandpa going forward. Look at the picture of him…how could you not want to do everything possible to stay around?<\/p>\n

He’s such an amazing little boy! Despite being a wildly active 15 month old, he’s also one of the most loving people I know. He seems to have an innate sense of when someone needs a hug, and despite wiggly like crazy around the rest of us, he settled down and snuggled up to his Great Grandma for almost 30 minutes the other day.<\/p>\n

To ensure that I’m around for him and all the Hectic Kids,\u00a0I’ve decided to up my workout game and workout at least 5 of every 7 days. I’ve been tracking it in my new habit tracker of choice Way of Life<\/a> and discovered that I’m doing vastly better than 5\/7 days, more like 12\/13 days so far in June\u00a0and 18\/21 over the past 3 weeks!<\/p>\n

My body fat is dropping (I’d love to say melting away but this would be the slowest\u00a0melt<\/em> on record), my body muscle weight is rising slightly, and overall my weight is dropping. I feel a bit better than I have, and that’s improving every day. I haven’t been very good about posting post-workout selfies, but even that is improving.<\/p>\n

I’ve been working out a lot, and while I’m not very pretty afterwards, the workout selfies are a way to share with the world that I’ve been consistently working hard so that I can get in better shape. Most of the workouts have been on our stationary bike or treadmill, although I’m starting to sprinkle in some outside workouts. With three 5k’s, one Sprint Triathlon, and a Half Marathon all before October I’ve got some events to work towards!<\/p>\n
