Word of the Week: Oxymoron

Word of the Week

Oxymoron

This week, started off with a 5K where I was able to run slowly at best. Afterwards as our small crowd gathered for the family photo we were told to arrange ourselves in random order. The photo turned out awfully good where we all appeared to act naturally during the shot. Hectic 12 had a scare during her warm-ups for the vault at YMCA Gymnastics Nationals, but ended up awfully lucky.

Hectic 20 came home for his birthday, and we intended to serve Jumbo shrimp, but I was clearly confused when he said that was his least favorite food at the moment. My deafening silence was broken after a short wait. Things could have ended up pretty ugly, but we made the only choice and took him out to dinner. All was well with the world after that.

So the word of the week is oxymoron. It’s a phrase where two apparently contradictory terms appear together. Not only do they appear together, but they seem to make perfect sense despite their apparent contradiction. We actually had a lot of fun putting together the oxymorons for the week in the Hectic Household. We had quite a few more, but several of them weren’t fit for public consumption!
